Great Bay Boulevard
Great Bay Boulevard, the only paved road into the
Great Bay Boulevard Fish and Wildlife Management Area, consists of an area
roughly 4,760 acres. This ecosystem contains miles of waterfront on the Great
Bay National Estuarine Reserve and the Little Egg Harbor Bay area of the
Barnegat Bay Estuary, salt
marshes tidal creeks, sedge islands, maritime forests and a Native American
shell mound. It is perfect for all types of ecotours, kayaking, hiking,
picnicking, canoeing and beachcombing because it is well known for opportunities
to observe wildlife at home. Waterfowl are a common site in surrounding waters,
as well as song birds and birds of prey. Not only can you enjoy the natural
beauty of historic Tuckerton, but there are also convenient places for clamming,
