EJM from Middletown, NY
Just spent 4 days at LBI and disappointed by the weather. Always went there for the same week for the past 3 years to share a house with my family and always had good weather, but not this year. Guess I was spoiled from the previous years weather. Cut my trip short by a couple of days. It was mostly windy, cold and rain on the day I left. What is going on with the flooding in some areas of the Island? Some business parking lots and streets look like lakes!

Alessandra from Firenze Italy
Last year I was in LBI twice,July and October...I spent hours walking on the beach collecting shells and beach glass.I hope to be back some day!

Just one week away from being on the Island! Can't wait to feel that special summer feeling that only LBI gives me!

I like to consider myself well traveled. Cruise's and long weekends to the Islands are a staple in my life. I've gotten facials and mud baths at the best spas around. I dine often in 5 star restaurants in N.Y.C.. None of these luxuries remotely compares to the last two week in August on LBI. My favorite place to dine is what I like to call L.B.I'S best kept secret, The Gables.Recently restored, it is more magnificent then ever. Truley worthy of an upper west side address. I Luv LBI.

As always, I am looking forward to my stay in Beach Haven! I can not wait until August 13th when I know I will once again be back to the place I love the most. My husband and I stayed in Wildwood, NJ a few days in July this year. It did not have the spirit and specialness of Long Beach Island. I am not truly on vacation until I reach LBI!

Celeste Sarco from Long Island, NY
LBI is one of my favorite places. Been going down since I was a kid in the mid 60s. Now our kids are loving it just as much. Favorite spot is Surf City. I think I could live there...

Paddi from Cranbury
Can't wait to see Surf City this August! Haven't stayed on the island since we owned a home on New Jersy Ave when I was a child. I want to eat, swim and be merry. See you soon!

I have great memories of LBI as a kid growing up in the seventies and eighties. Now I've introduced my fiance to the island, and were making new memories. My father has a house in Loveladies, so I'm able to visit the island a couple of times throughout the summer. The island has changed quite a bit since the 70's, but it still gives you that island feeling.

Iris and Kurt from ohio
we love LBI........we just got back from a week long vacation in Beach Haven and already we're planning our next trip to the shore. If only we could stay longer. We dream about owning a place there someday so we can stay all summer. Our kids love it too. It's just a great place to be.

Celeste Montgomery from Holgate
I have been visiting LBI for about 30 years, but I have found the best kept secret on LBI. Lorrys Motel in Holgate. I have never been so impressed as to the warmness,I feel this place is the best kept secret on LBI it is called Lorry's Motel. The owner was always on site and always busy, his gardens on this property were unreal, the location of this property were the best on the Island you are very close to the ocean, bay and wildlife.I tip my hat to this motel and plan on returning year after year.

July, 2002 was my most recent visit to LBI ... and I can't wait to get back to paradise ! ! We stayed at the Mussel Beach Club, but I took my kids to Surf City to show them the house where my family stayed at 21st & Central when my brother and I were kids. Family friends stayed across the street, so we "owned" the corner the last week of July and first week of August every year!

I have been fortunate enough to spend 30+ years at LBI. It is by far the best beach in NJ. Many memories there. I treasure them always. I am happy my kids are enjoying it now.

RUTH (JERSEY) BOLTON from OCEAN GATE, NEW JERSEY
L.B.I. is "THE MOST PRECIOUS" island that I have come to love and adore! My life's dream has been to live out the rest of my life on this fabulous island. But, living only a short drive away has been a God Send for me. If only people could just "APPRECIATE" all the Beauty that God has given us, then maybe they would take pride and care of our oceans. Sun, sand and ocean waters are a great way to destress and rejuvinate the mind, body and spirit! My Island of Pardise!

My best memories are the summers I spend on LBI in the late 50's and 60's. Now, finally, many years later, I'm finally going back for a weekend getaway with part of my family. I can't wait and have been searching your website for every little bit of information I can find. I can't wait. Thank you for the wonderful memories LBI.

Sarah Meng from Las Vegas, NV (former Moorestown, NJ resident)
I have lived in Vegas now for 9 years, and have been to college overlooking the Cali beaches for four. Nothing I have found quite compares to the years spent as a little girl, venturing to the shore with the ice cream truck, eating water taffey's and most of all just discovering "Fantasy Island"!

I love lbi I have been going there for years, the best time we had was on a charter boat called Bayside Tours that runs out of Holgate Marina, we had an amazing time with them.

Your messages create "home sickness." Grew up summers in Ship Bottom; helped parents run miniature golf, arcade, water cycles and water skiing; things from another era. Best friends were summer friends: until we married with "real jobs", worked for my father and enjoyed the water. It's wonderful that LBI is still the place to be. My grandfparents moved there year round in 1948. Golf course they built and apartments they rented-out still exist. They would be thrilled regarding the enthuesiasm for the Island. Maybe I will see one of you next summer after years away from NJ.
